Starting, stopping, and seeing the status

This section will provide several commands and processes to assist in monitoring and troubleshooting.

Starting/Stopping

If you need to stop and start the services for an indefinite amount of time, the services can be stopped with the following command:

  • sudo ./inbi stop

And started with the following command:

  • sudo ./inbi start

Restarting

If the server is down or is throwing exceptions that prevent stories from writing, the unit can be restarted with the command:

  • sudo ./inbi restart

Logs

You can find logs for viz services on the host machine in /opt/ns/logs. There will be a folder for each subcomponent of the story generation service.

You can query logs with this command:

  • sudo ./inbi logs

Docker

The systemd unit controls a tool called Docker Compose, which in turn manages the lifecycle of several Docker containers.

To list the currently running Docker containers:

  • sudo ./inbi status
